Water Damage in Your Home

Water leaks in home  exceed more than 1 trillion gallons a year. That is equivalent of water usage for Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami combined. 250 gallons is the amount of water that can leak from  1/8 inch pipe crack each day.

10% of US households have leaks and are wasting about 90 gallons each day. A faucet that leaks one drip per second can waste up to 3,000 gallons per year. A continuously running toilet can waste 200 gallons of water a day.


There is 3 categories of water damage and they are:


  1. Clean water
  2. Grey Water
  3. Black Water

To prevent water damage in your home you can have a plumber maintain your home plumbing on a regular basis. By Replacing your hoses on appliances can help you out. Get your toilet inspected by a plumber.

When there are leaks in the house shut of the water right away and make sure your kids know how to do this too. Pay attention to your plumbing system and look for wear and tear on it. Look for signs of moisture on the walls and make sure you have a reliable sump pump in case of  your home flooding.
